United Losing Out on Dutch Defender!

United Losing Out on Dutch Defender!

If the Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij was on Louis Van Gaal`s wish list then our boss could well be set to be disappointed.

Van Gaal picked the 22 year-old centre back for every World Cup game the Dutch competed in at Brazil 2014 and knows all of his attributes.

It had been suggested that de Vrij would become one of Van Gaal`s first signings as the manager of Manchester United but that doesn`t look as if it will be the case.

Speculation is rife that the Serie A side, Lazio, have secured the defenders services, from Feyenoord, for a transfer fee of £6.7 million.

It`s also said that the deal is done subject to the medical being successfully completed.

Best of luck to him. What with Van Gaal admitting after the Inter game we need a Centre Back I imagine de Vrij wasn't the one he was after. It's looking more and more like it will be Vermaelen which I haven't go an issue with I just find it severely underwhelming.

Seeing as we missed out on Varane can't we just raid Athletic again this time for Laporte?

If not a French Centre Back how about another Spaniard in the side and get Inigo Martinez.
