Vermaelen Puzzle

Vermaelen Puzzle

The last we heard any move to bring Thomas Vermaelen to Old Trafford was floundering.

Apparently, the price United had offered Arsenal fell short of their valuation and there was even fresh talk of the defender being given a fresh contract.

Well, if one news source is correct, the wheel has turned full circle with it now being reported that Manchester United have now agreed a deal for Vermaelen and that only the actual transfer fee needs settling!

Shall we all just sit back and wait for official confirmation (or a denial) from those in charge at Old Trafford?

Arsenal should take anything they can get for Vermaelen. He's unable to cope under pressure, is brittle and not good enough at any level.

Wasn't all this said before for both Vermaelen and his agent to come out and deny it? Not believing anything until it's confirmed. Really not fussed if we don't get Vermaelen, there's numerous other defenders i'd sooner see us get ahead of him.

I'd rather he stayed where he is to be honest. Surely we can do a lot better.

You'd certainly think we could.
