Shaw on Joining United

Shaw on Joining United

Having become the most expensive teenager in world football, with United paying £27 million for his services to Southampton, Luke Shaw has explained why he couldn`t resist the lure of Old Trafford.

Speaking to the media after the deal was signed, the teenager remarked to the press,

"United is the biggest club in the world and will always be up there with the best. The main reason I came here was because they want to win trophies. As a young lad, when I grow up I want to be winning trophies and that`s what they like to do at United."

"It`s a great feeling. It`s been going on for quite a long time now. I`ve known for a number of weeks that United were interested in me."

"I was hoping it would be done before the World Cup."

"It wasn`t but I`m finally here so I`m very pleased and I can`t believe it has happened."

Chuffed to have him, finally the first team LB position and Evra's successor has been sorted for the next 10-15 years with this signing, that's without even considering he could be the best left back in the world in a few years time.
