Another Centre Back Link!

With Manchester United a little short in the centre-back positions, after the departures of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, transfer speculation is bound to link us with the acquisition of central defenders.

Today the inference is that we`re now direct rivals with Chelsea for the signature of the FC Porto centre back Eliquim Mangala

Apparently it`s being championed, by the press, Barcelona have withdrawn their interest in acquiring the services of the 23 year-old leaving others to snap up a player who could well turn out to be a star.

One of the defenders I wouldn't mind seeing at Old Trafford next season. No deal will ever be possible though if Porto insist on either club to meet his ludicrous release clause. Rather than be held to ransom I'd sooner see us go after one of the other desirable options.
