'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A Wanted Man

Signed from Crewe Alexandra, as a teenager, life was always going to be hard for our 20 year-old midfielder, Nick Powell, to make his mark at Old Trafford.

Last season the midfielder was loaned to the championship side Wigan, where he enjoyed a successful season. However, with Louis Van Gaal set to become the new manager of Manchester United you get the feeling that Powell might be swamped by the arrival of so many world-class players.

Therefore, it`s interesting to read that newly promoted Leicester City, a club that have serious intentions of making an impact in the Premier League, are keen to sign player on a permanent basis.

The question remains though - will United sell a player who could yet turn out to be a major player on the Premier League stage?

We'd be daft if we did flog him. I hope he's brought back and given a chance as should have been done last season. It's not like the midfield is awash with talent is it given the choice of Powell, Cleverly, Carrick and Fellani which two would you pick?

My sentiments exactly Motor, we would be mad to sell Powell. He's just had a season where he displayed he's above and beyond Championship level at only 20 years old. Resultantly, this instantly makes him better than Cleverley and Anderson. With question marks still lingering over Fletcher and his future at the club due to his chronic ailment it's highly unlikely he's going to be ahead of Powell in the pecking order. Fellaini still has everything to prove and, assuming we don't sign anyone, looks the only viable competition for a place in the midfield alongside Carrick whom at this point we should be looking to phase out. I'll be shocked if Van Gaal, a man who likes to utilise academy products and young players, doesn't have plans for Powell.
