'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Could it be another great Old Trafford Night?

Whether or not this turns out to be the last season we see Ryan Giggs playing in the Champions League remains to be seen.

With, unless we win it; it looking highly unlikely that we`ll be participating in the Champions League next season, courtesy of a poor Premier League season, the advance of years may well see Ryan finally hang up his boots.

But, if that is the case, a quarter-final tie against Bayern Munich is one hell of a way to enter the final stages of a career that has seen Ryan rack up 140 Champions League appearances.

Ahead of the game tonight, Ryan has taken the opportunity to offer a few words about the game tonight, after being given the opportunity to share the pre-match press conference duties with David Moyes, prompting Ryan to remark,

"Bayern are a fantastic team, they are the holders."

"They might be favourites in most people`s eyes."

"But we are Manchester United and at Old Trafford where we have had so many great nights."

"We don`t see ourselves as underdogs, we see ourselves as Manchester United playing at home."

"It is going to be tough but it always is in the quarter-finals of the Champions League."

Who knows, if we can get Bayern rattled early on the Champions League could well be our salvation this season.

Giggs epitomises the traditional United way, the "we are going out to win" mentality. Where as Moyes is a defeatist, incompetent, dour inept Ginger Goblin.
Fantastic performance from your boys - although Bayern lacked a certain something everytime they entered the box. Hopefully you'll get hammered in the return leg but last night was one of those great European nights at the swamp.
Cheers Kenny I think? Least we have your vote of confidence we'll try our hardest to disappoint :-)
