It Gets Worse!

The injury picked up by Robin van Persie, in the 3-0 win over Olympiakos, is starting to give serious cause for concern.

With it being announced that the Dutch striker might be out for four to six weeks, the latest speculation is that his absence could be longer than that and the Van Persie might, as well as missing the rest of this season, his participation in the forthcoming World Cup could be in jeopardy.

One Sunday tabloid is intimating that Van Persie has flown to the famous Erasmus Medical Centre, in Rotterdam, for treatment from one of Europe`s top surgeons, Rien Heijboer.

Van Persie has dealings with Heijboer before, during his Arsenal days, and the suggestion is that Van Persie will be out for a minimum of eight weeks and it could be longer of there is, yet to be found, ligament damage.

All we, and the legions of Dutch fans can do, is keep our fingers crossed for Van Persie.

Sums up our season, we seem to get some momentum going, RVP finally seems to have hit form and then he's out for the season. Hopefully we'll see more of Shinj or Mata in the hole.

Heard some absolute drivel coming out from United fans recently saying we play and look better without RVP suggesting RVP is the issue. What a load of nonsense! The issue is with playing Rooney in the hole! Last season RVP wasn't the issue and it was largely down to him that we won the league as convincingly as we did. That hasn't changed in a year. However, last season Rooney struggled for game time and rarely played in the hole yet this season that has changed. Coincidence? I don't think so. When RVP's back hopefully Moyes does what's best and plays him up top, Mata behind him, Januzaj & Kagawa on the flanks and Rooney deep in midfield with Carrick/Fellaini.
