'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Chasing a Blade?

With our captain, Nemanja Vidic, departing and the future of Rio Ferdinand uncertain, it`s fairly certain that a centre-back is on the radar of David Moyes this summer.

However, whilst the tabloids continue to promote the possibility of United spending big on bringing in a top centre back from the continent, could United be about t spring a surprise and bring someone to Old Trafford who playing relatively close to home?

The reasons why I ask is that speculation (on Friday) intimated that Manchester United were in the race, along with Chelsea, to lure the 21 year-old Harry Maguire away from Sheffield United.

The young defender has received rave reviews playing for the Yorkshire outfit and could those at Sheffield United could be prepared to sell for a fee said to be in the region of £7 million.

We`ll keep our ears to the ground on this one!

We have Smalling and Jones plus Evans already, surely if we are to sign a centre back it has to be a top quality world class one to fill the void left by not one but two former world class centre backs. Tbh I dont think moyes has a clue as to what to do with our squad overhaul.

Could be another Smalling or Jones. Since you are no longer a World Class team it is unlikely you will be able to attract World Class players - this seems much more your level.
