Fletcher`s Reward

Although Darren Fletcher has played just twenty times for Manchester United in the last two seasons, courtesy of his ongoing medical condition, the Scottish midfielder looks like being rewarded with a new contract.

The 30 year-old midfielder, who has just been recalled to the Scottish squad, is expected to be rewarded with a rolling deal when his current contract expires next year.

It`s thought the terms will be similar to those of his present contract, whereby he`s thought to earn circa 60,000 a week.

If the rumours are true, our view is that Darren deserves every penny after battling his illness and coming out the other side.

Personally wouldn't give him anything more than a rolling deal. Ultimately his condition is a chronic one and whilst he's done incredibly well just to come back and play football, let alone remain competitive at the highest level, it's questionable whether he'll be able to keep it up and manage it. It's great seeing Fletcher back, it really is all the same though I'm not holdng my breath on anything.

I agree with Famous. I know people with the same condition as Fletcher and I've seen what they go through so for me just to see him play a few times this season is a miracle in itself. A rolling contract is clearly the best option for both parties.
