United Battle For van Dijk

United are set to do 'battle' with old adversary Man City this summer as the two Manchester clubs go head to head to signing Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk.

That's if the reports in the Telegraph are correct of course.

Nemanja Vidic is on his way out of Old Trafford at the end of his contract and United will do well to get another season out of Rio Ferdinand, so central defence is definitely an area that David Moyes needs to work on as part of the 'major shake up' this summer.

Celtic have the Dutchman under contract until 2017 and wouldn't want to lose him but van Dijk has impressed, not only in the SPL but also in the champions league, since his arrival in Scotland and an offer in the region of 10m couldn't be refused.

Is he worth 10m and will United even want to pay this or want him? That will be known in the summer I suppose.

So we went from Mangala to Garay to van Dijk what next Sylvain Distin?

So, is this what qualifies for journalism nowadays? Just pluck a random player out of the air, a random valuation based on nothing and then two random clubs, preferably rivals, and say they're 'competing' for his signature.
TheFamousNo7
I reckon they have a tombola to decide what bull excrement to print that or just throw darts at team photos.
MotorMad
If we were to go for every player that the rags link us with we would be able to field 20 teams and our weekly wage bill would be the same as Denmarks GDP.
