'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Vidic To Inter 90% Done

Nemanja Vidic's United exit is something that has been known for a couple of weeks, he'll be leaving Old Trafford at the end of his contract as he seeks a new challenge in his career.

Juventus have been long-time admirers of the defender and a move to Italy is almost certain but Inter Milan's interest was confirmed earlier this month and even though he says that he doesn't want to 'announce anything' Inter President Erick Thohir has done a pretty good job at announcing enough.

On Thursday afternoon he revealed that the 32-year-olds move to the San Siro was 90% done.

Thohir told Inter's official website: 'I don't want to announce something that's 90% done.

'I think it's better to make an announcement when it's complete.

'I don't want to speak on something that's not done yet.'

For someone that doesn't want to talk about something until it's done he has all but 10% confirmed that Vidic will soon be announced as a summer signing for Inter.

Surprised he couldn't attract a better Italian club to be honest. Well, with football how it is in Italy no doubt he'll play for another 2-3 clubs as well as inter.

No doubt he'll leave with a legend status but for me for the remainder of the season we should start thinking about the future and omit him from the team to give our future CB pairing, whoever that may be, game time to familiarise themselves with one another. Wouldn't hurt to get the new captain instated now while we're at it.

Come next season a lot of the old faces would've left, maybe even a couple of squad players also and (hopefully!) plenty of new faces will have come in. With the transition period that will inevitably come due to that the last thing we want is a CB pairing which is leaking goals because the two players aren't familiar with each other's games and they don't know which one is supposed to step up to be the leader. It seems silly to neglect this opportunity that is the write off of this season to iron out that issue and save it from biting us in the arse in the future.
