Stat Attack - 10 of the Best!

As Manchester United prepare to take on Cardiff City this evening, we`ve our usual array of stats for you to ponder over:-

1 - The last four meeting between the two clubs have seen United win three and draw one.

2 - As far as the Premier League goes, our recent home record doesn`t make for good reading with United having lost three out of the last five Premier League games at Old Trafford.

3 - Our current points tally of thirty-seven points from twenty-two games is our worst ever tally at this stage of the season as far as Premier League history goes.

4 - Cardiff arrive at Old Trafford having shipped sixteen goals in their last six Premier League games.

5 - Our opponents tonight have, also, not tasted victory in any of their last eight away Premier League games losing six and drawing two.

6 - Cardiff last won this fixture back in November 1960 when they won 3-0 at Ninian Park.

7 - Cardiff have played thirteen league matches at Old Trafford and have won just two.

8 - Cardiff`s last victory, at old Trafford, came way back on April 3rd 1954 when they triumphed 3-2.

9 - In twenty-eight previous meetings between the two sides United have thirteen victories, Cardiff have seven and the remaining eight have been draws.

10 - If United win tonight they will become the first Premier League side to earn 1,000 points at home in the Premier League, United currently have 998 to their name.

History seems to be going out the window this season. Teams who usually prepare for a customary thrashing are causing upsets and turning us over. This game is far from the given the pundits and media are making it out to be.
