Young`s Return!

Ashley Young hasn`t had the best of time in his career this season.

The winger has struggled to get into the starting eleven on a regular basis and when he has done he`s found himself enveloped in controversy due to his theatrical falls to the ground under the merest of challengers.

But his performance last night, allied with the opening goal of the game, infers that Ashley isn`t ready to lie down and be pushed out of the Old Trafford exit door come the opening of the January transfer window.

Speaking after the dust had died down, or should that be the rain had stopped, last night Ashley re-iterated his desire to get more regular action, remarking to the media,

"I want to play more and have been on the bench, but I want to be in the team. As soon as I hit it I felt it was a clean strike and knew it was going to go in."

"The weather took me into the boards! It was a relief to get the goal and I`m delighted."

And so were we, but let`s hope last night wasn`t just a glimpse of what can be achieved but something that can be maintained on a regular basis.

Youngs got to prove he's well and truly out of the poor form that's tainted his game for so long rather than let this be one of those class every once in while matches English players are typical of.

Wow one decent performance. He was never good enough for United and he still isn't.
