More on the Transfer Front!

As we prepare to take on Shakhtar Donetsk tonight, in our final Champions League group game, there are one, or two, transfer rumours doing the rounds that we haven`t covered

The first relates to the Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, with it being intimated that we have rivals in the form of Barcelona and Arsenal for the signature of the twenty-three year-old, could the inference that Dortmund are keen on a Shinji Kagawa return swing this one our way?

Secondly, over in South America, a continent we`ve taken some decent talent from over the past few years, the Brazilian forward, on the books of Cruzeiro, Everton Ribeiro, has intimated that he might be interested in coming to Old Trafford with it being hinted that Liverpool are also keen on landing a player who would cost something in the region of 10 million.

We`ll keep you posted if we hear any concrete developments.

Ribeiros recent comments did make me laugh about how he knows the team based on him playing video games. No offence to the lad but I don't think he's what we need, we need someone proven, tried and tested in Europe and can't afford the risk. Gundogan, even for Kagawa, would be an ideal signing but very rarely do we make the ideal move, much to us fans frustration.

I know he hates playing there but the most ideal solution until we can get reinforcements is to play Rooney as a CM and let Kagawa play the CAM role. Don't drop Januzaj either, he's the only other player capable of picking out a forward pass.
Its nice to be linked to players like Gundogan but we all know what will happen we'll offer a tenner, dortmund will say they want 30 so we'll then offer a fiver, dortmund refuse, Barca or Arsenal come in pay 30 million and get their man, while we are left *****ing in the wind as usual. Moyes then pulls off a brilliant (thats what the board call it)last minute move and we bring in Osman for 35 million and Kagawa in part exchange. And Giggs signs a new 10 year contract.
