Welbeck Operation

It is looking very much as if Manchester United will have to do without the services of Danny Welbeck until early next year.

The England international striker has had a third knee operation to clear up a cartilage problem that has seen the forward miss several recent games whilst also forcing him to withdraw from the England squad for the recent friendly fixtures against Chile and Germany.

Welbeck joins Michael Carrick with regards to those who have recently had operations with Carrick said to be side-lined until late December.

We wish both well in their recovery periods.

Carrick was a massive blow to the first team, Welbeck is a blow to the squad. Doesn't matter if you like him or loathe him his workrate and attitude is impeccable and undeniable, not to mention he adds a different dimension to the front line being perhaps our only striker who's a decent target man.
