Rooney`s United Concerns

Those mischievous journalists over a the Daily Mail have run an article, this morning, inferring that Wayne Rooney is seeking assurance about his future at Old Trafford.

Following recent speculation relating to a United interest in Robert Lewandowski and Radamel Falcao, the inference is that Rooney is fearful of retaining his favoured striking role and is fearful of being moved back into an offensive midfield role.

Rooney needs to be moved into midfield full stop regardless of whether another striker comes in. The team looks better balanced for it, he looks better for it and whoever is up top is better for it. Personally don't understand what his issue is with being moved into midfield.

Bloody mindedness I would guess he's never been an out and out striker so why he clings to the notion he is just baffles. Fergie needs to sit him down and show him the proof he is more effective in an attacking midfield role. Either that or make him watch his recent up front outings and then explain his woeful performances. Swiftly followed with a competent argument as why he should continue in a forward role other than the I'm a striker line.
