Solskjaer Longs For A Return

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is driven on by a dream - to play again at Old Trafford.

The Manchester United striker returned to action after an 19-month absence following knee surgery with a 45-minute run-out for the reserves last night.

While the 32-year-old claims he can hack it in the reserves, pulling on the number 20 first-team shirt remains his goal.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: 'The big step has not been taken yet. Playing in this match is just part of the recovery.

'There was never any doubt in my mind I could play at this level but I am still not where I want to be and that's at Old Trafford. I have to work hard to achieve my goal and my dream it is to play there again.

'It is early days yet. I am just taking it one day at a time. Of course there has been frustration but you get reality checks when things happen to other people.

'Now, though, I am training with the first team, which is bit different to being with the reserves. It is a quicker tempo. Let's just wait and see if I can get back in the first team.

'The lads are ready for Benfica. It has been hard in Europe and we have not created too many chances. But everyone is really looking forward to the game. That's what we are all about - big challenges.'
