Brokering a Deal With Nike!

Speculation relating to a return to Old Trafford for Cristiano Ronaldo continues to gather momentum.

In midweek, the Portuguese star got a marvellous reception from the Old Trafford faithful and he showed he still has feelings for Manchester United by celebrating his winning goal, for Real Madrid, with minimal celebrations.

Today, continuing to pour further fuel on the fire of a Ronaldo return to Old Trafford, the inference is that Manchester United have held talks with Nike about possibly brokering a deal, said to be around £65 million, to bring the 28 year-old home.

Stay tuned, this story still, we reckon, has got plenty of legs in it!

Even when Fergie says it's not going to happen the tabloids insist otherwise. This rumour is just a cheap rehash of the 'Nike will pay for United to get Sneijder' of the past and we all know how that worked out...

remind me where Sneijder is now!

That awkward moment when the main proponenets of "Financial Fair Play" get caught trying to subvert the rules. DOH!

Sneider said the other day, that United did try and buy him from Inter, however the asking price was to high, we then went on to sign Kagawa, and Inter had to ship him of to Turkey for a fragtion of the price asked of United. I still believe that there is some truth in the rumors, obviously SAF cant say he wants to sign Ronaldo, as this will drive up the price. If he did say it and we werent able to, it would be a story for the press to frown upon. Ronny wants to come, he hasnt signed a new deal with Real, obviously United wants him, but between it happening theres is a lot of buts, however maybe not this summer but the next, Ronny will be in United. Fifth, I dont see how this is in violation with financial fair play, if United renegotiate the sponsor deal with Nike before the end of existing one, at least Nike is not paying hugely over the marketvalue.

Oh come on fcb its probably the usual tabloid crap as we all know. As for financial fair play your just *****ed off your lots not come up with the idea. If I was city I'd put a throne in one of the boxes and charge the shiek a few million to watch the match.
MotorMad
MotorMad, these sponsorship deals already happen in football, in S. America in particular, this is nothing new.
