'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Nani Happy Playing His Part

Nani has struggled to secure a regular first-team spot with Manchester United recently, however his efforts on Monday helped United to an FA Cup win over Reading.

After being denied by the post Nani opened the scoring in the second half before creating the second.

The 26-year-old was happy to "get an opportunity" and play a part in the win, he said: 'Everyone is ready to help the team.

'I was glad to get an opportunity to come on, I enjoyed the game and helped the team. I scored the first goal and that changed the game and I am pleased to get an assist to help the team to this big win.'

Nani is understood to be unhappy at his lack of football with United and has been reported as wanting to leave Old Trafford, with moves in recent transfer windows mooted but not coming off.

His man of the match showing in the 2-1 win over Reading will almost certainly bring him a start against QPR this weekend, more of the same and Sir Alex Ferguson will have little option but to give him an extended run with it then down to him to prove he is worthy of his place in the starting XI.

Is an Old Trafford departure this summer still likely? Maybe so but more showings like Monday can only work in favour of United with results going their way on the pitch and financial rewards coming the clubs way should his price rise and he moves on.

Fergie really rates nani and in fairness when he's on his game he's one of our best players and one of few capable of changing a game in an instant and one of the best wingers in the league. Apparently he doesn't rate him as highly as nani rates himself otherwise a contract would've been agreed already. Still unsure as to whether he'll leave our stay but zaha is a very similar player to nani make of that what you will.
