A Standing Ovation!

A Standing Ovation!

If anyone believed that the Bernabeu crowd would be 100% hostile towards United then they might have been a little taken back by one event on Wednesday evening.

When the board went up that saw Ryan Giggs come on as a second half substitute, the Bernabeu crowd rose to give the Welshman a standing ovation, in recognition of his achievements in the game.

It was one of those moments that made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up!

Really didn't expect that and it certainly never went unnoticed by myself. Fair play to them and again it's a testament to how much of an athlete and professional Giggs is that it's recognised by clubs he doesn't even get to play against regularly. That moment for me is up there for me as one of the finest moments in football strangely reminded me of when the Barca players scrambled for Scholesys shirt.
