'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Accolades for Giggs

I`d hazard a guess that Ryan Giggs only started on Sunday, against Everton, because we`ve a vital Champions League tie with Real Madrid this Wednesday.

However, Ryan took full advantage of his opportunity and his opening goal set u sup for a decent victory, a victory that took us 12 points clear of our nearest rivals Manchester City.

The goal was also of personal significance for Ryan as it became the 23rd consecutive season, in the top-flight that the Welshman has hit the net.

Sir Alex Ferguson, talking about the strike, had this to say about his star,

"All the superlatives have been used up but he doesn`t need any because his legacy lives on. He`s just a fantastic human being."

"In this game, at 38, or is he 39? Maybe 40, I don`t know. But he`s up and down that pitch all day, showing fantastic energy for the game. It`s wonderful."

Unique is another word I`d use.

As for Ryan, he had this to say to the media,

"It was an important goal. It set us off and that after that we played some good stuff."

Hopefully, we can carry this form into the Champions League tie this Wednesday.

Not remotely phased by the plaudits and personal accolades And records he's set, only concerned about the team and his contributions to it. A true professional, not even the personal issues effected his game. Class, pure class and just as I was saying he has nothing more to offer and doesn't improve the squad any more.

but it was his FIRST of the season, that gets conviently forgotten about!
merlin
In the league admittedly Merlin but he has scored in cup matches for us. Just as we start to write him off saying it's got to be his last season he rolls back the years to prove us wrong.
MotorMad
I do call him and his oldmate Scholes. Apostle Giggs and Apostle Paul.for the type of true proffessional messagers they are to man utd and SAF.both are real top class footballer whose been terrific for the club.but i stil believe is time for them to take a bow young talent that are legends in the maken to step in.
