Munich - Gone But Never Forgotten

It`s come around again, the anniversary of that tragic day, back on 6th February 1958, when the awful plane crash, in Munich, saw a team devastated.

It`s now 55 years since United lost eight players with 15 others also losing their life`s and with several more badly injured, on that icy Munich night.

Talking about his own personal memories of that night, Sir Alex Ferguson has commented,

"I`ve been affected since a young boy. It was a sad time."

"For many it`s probably long forgotten but for someone like me who remembers the day, you don`t forget it."

Indeed you don`t and it should never be forgotten.

Therefore, we`d ask you, at some time today to take a few moments and say a few prayers for the eight players United lost that night;-

• Geoff Bent (25)
• Roger Byrne (28)
• Eddie Colman (21)
• Duncan Edwards (21)
• Mark Jones (24)
• David Pegg (22)
• Tommy Taylor (26)
• Liam Whelan (22)

Plus the other 15 others who died.

Gone, but never forgotten!
