'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sir Alex Praises Van Persie!

Following that exquisite fight-back, Sir Alex Ferguson, in his post-match interview, was bubbling about the contribution of Robin Van Persie.

Seeing the Dutch striker net his 20th goal of the season and seal a replay, Sir Alex remarked,

'You never rule out fighting back with our team but certainly at 2-1 down with a couple of minutes to go you hope you get a break. The manner of the goal with Ryan Giggs' ball and Robin van Persie's finish was world class."

'It is a new challenge here for Robin van Persie. He is a well-established international, he is a mature age and he has brought that maturity to the front line. His performance was tremendous.'

It certainly was!
