Early Team News - West Ham (FA Cup)

Lady Luck was definitely looking the other way when the draw for the FA Cup 3rd round was made.

A trip to Upton Park, to play West Ham, wasn`t the cushy tie we were all hoping for.

With bigger fish to fry, namely the Champions League and Premier League, it`ll be interesting to see who, out of Sir Alex Ferguson`s expansive squad, makes the eighteen selected for the game.

However, as the tie approaches, news is filtering through as to who will and who will not come into consideration.

Apparently, Sir Alex Ferguson will use the tie to provide Nemanja Vidic and Phil Jones with the opportunity to gain further match fitness. However, we`re also hearing that as well as Wayne Rooney not being considered, Nani, despite returning to training, is also not in contention for selection.

Westham and their playing style should suit vidics strengths as a defend to a tee and as such is the perfect game for him to start getting back to grips with the league.
