Rooney Injury Update

As we prepare to face West Ham United in the FA Cup 3rd round, at Upton Park, this Saturday, it appears we`ll do so without Wayne Rooney.

Rooney, who picked up a knee injury in a Christmas Day training session, is set to remain on the side-lines for another two weeks with Sir Alex Ferguson confirming ahead of the tie,

"Wayne is still injured"

"It is not serious but it is going to take longer than we thought. Probably another two weeks. He won`t be fit for Liverpool."

More importantly, with bigger fish to fry in the shape of the Premier League and the Champions League, who will Sir Alex pick to lead the line at Upton Park this weekend?

Is the clever money on Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez?

Fergie says he won't be fit but might just be a ploy to give him a tactical edge in the sense that Liverpool don't know whether to prepare for him or not.
