Wigan Win Battle!

After much indecision about whether our young Chilean striker, Angelo Henriquez, would be going on loan to Wigan or reporting for u21 duty, the issue has finally been resolved.

Reports came through today that, as expected, Angelo (18) has signed a loan deal with Wigan to remain at the DW Stadium for the remainder of the season.

The Chilean striker is expected to make his debut for the Latics against Bournemouth in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, this weekend.

We hope he has an enjoyable, and successful, loan spell.

It would be refreshing to see some English players show as much desire playing for their country as Henriquez has. Whilst he might not be happy with the clubs decision not to let him go on international duty in the long run we're only thinking of his career and development and a loan period at Wigan will be more beneficial for him than playing at an U-20 championship. Hopefully under Martinez his game could come on leaps and bounds and he can really adapt to the premier league like Cleverley did. With Kone out on loan and di santo the only otehr striker to compete with you would like to think he will get plenty of playing time, its up to him to grasp the opportunites handed to him and stamp his authority as a leading striekr for wigan. Best of luck to him and best of luck to Wigan.
