Arsenal Bound?

The tabloid press is peddling an interesting suggestion.

They reckon that our Portuguese winger, Nani, may well be going to Arsenal.

Apparently, having let Robin van Persie leave last summer and finally ending up at Old Trafford after a conversation between Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger; Arsene is confident that a similar chat will result in Sir Alex letting Nani move south.

A fee of £12 million is quoted and a salary of £90,000 a week thrown into the mix.

Could it happen?

Stay tuned!

Arsene is deluded if he thinks because he sold us one of his, when he didn't have much choice, we should should feel obligated to sell him one of ours. Wenger isn't that silly and I suspect it's just paper talk. However, if arsenal do want Nani I wouldn't have any objections. One minute he's the best winger in the league and the next your playing with only 10 men because he's completely inconsistent. The only fear would be that he goes to arsenal and fulfills his potential and if he does then I certainly would be gutted. It's no secret we would prefer it if he had stayed and fulfilled here solely because we've spent so much time and effort developing and maturing him. We can't keep waiting for him to fulfill it though but due to the possibility I'd sooner he moved abroad perhaps to Juventus who were previously interested, even if means losing 2-3 mil on the transfer fee if it is at all possible. Would be shocked if Nani did sign for arsenal as it would mean playing for a similar wage to what he's currently on when he wants more for an extension to stay with us. Really not sure what to make of this one.

Well it looks like he's staying thus killing any rumours of him leaving or Zaha or Walcott coming in. Fergie must still have a lot of faith in Nani coming good and if Fergie still believes in him, no matter how much Nani frustrates us, us fans should believe in him also. Hopefully he repays Fergies faith and patience and signs a new contract on the clubs terms (as its a more than fair deal) and adds that much yearned for consistency to his game. Young is a great squad player but not one who will single handedly get you 3 points from nothing nor is he as creative as Nani, so it would be nice to have an on form and consistent Nani to ensure we've got match winning potential all over the pitch.
