Benfica Defender Linked Again

The name of the Benfica defender Ezequiel Garay has surfaced in the press again, this morning.

It appears that Sir Alex Ferguson has identified that the former Real Madrid centre back is the man required to stiffen up our suspect defence.

A fee of 15 million is mentioned as being sufficient for Benfica to part with the Argentine defender.

Speculation has intensified, with regards to a possible move, with the inference being provided that United scouts have been to watch the defender numerous times in recent weeks.

I thought the idea was to improve our defence? In what way does Garay improve our defence? He's not remotely better than what we've already got. If you want the defence to be more solid you go for Hummels or someone similar, if you want to add depth then you go for Garay but even then never at 15 mil and theres better options than him. Very lazy journalism from whichever news source published this.
