United Draw Real Madrid!

Well that was a bit of a choker wasn`t it!

There were we thinking that finishing top of your group should lead to an easier knockout tie and we get landed with a club that has as much ambition of winning the trophy as we do - Real Madrid.

It surely must be the tie of the round but should we be fearful of Jose Mourinho and his side?

Probably not!

Real are struggling at the moment and are off the pace in La Liga and there are also suggestions that all is not well between Mourinho and his players.

The tie, also, gives us a chance to be reacquainted with Ronaldo. Here`s hoping our defence can cope with the player Mourinho touts as being better than Lionel Messi.

Definitely the tie of the round and one which, I believe, we can get through, bring it on!

Saw this one coming we will be hard pushed to win. Defence better get its act together or Ronaldo will tear us apart. Hopefully the reports of an less than harmonious dressing room will work in our favour.

Not as early as you lot though fcb least we've won a European match this season

Yep, amazing how even utter dross can be made to look half decent with an easy draw

Is this the same dross that turned you over at home? If so, if they're dross what does that make you?

Perez is a detestable pathetic excuse for a man.

Finally, this isn't an easy game by any stretch but it certainly is a winnable one. The games still 2 months away so there's plenty of time for things like defensive frailties (both sides) and form (Madrid) to change. We're sitting here thinking its going to be tough and equally as winnable as it is likely to lose but no doubt Madrid fans (par that (unt Perez apparently) are thinking the same. In those two games anything could happen. The only slight concern is how much more Madrid have got to win this competition seeing as their la liga season is effectively over as Mourinho has already confessed and as such no doubt all their attention and effort will be concentrated on the champions league while we still h ave one eye on the league.

Also it's UEFA haven't done themselves any favours regarding the corruption allegations levelled at them with the draw being the exact same as that in the rehearsal. Something's telling me they don't want to see another English club winning the champions league so they can deprive the premier league of a champions league spot. That said I wouldn't blame them and its been a long time coming seeing how badly the technical level and standard of football in the premier league has dropped. The top four of the premier league, no matter who was in the top four, were real forces to be reckoned with in Europe, how things have changed...
