Vidic Comeback

Could this weekend see our leaky defence fixed?

Having been out of action since 19th September, it is widely expected that Nemanja Vidic will make his return to the heart of the defence.

Speaking about the situation, Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed to reporters,

"It would have been crazy to play him against City but against Sunderland…definitely."

"It`s a big bonus to have him back. He is a real competitor with that uncompromising way of his. He likes defending - that`s what it is."

"In the last 18 months he has had only 10 games or something. It is not many games he has played."

"At the start of last season he got injured in the first game against West Brom and was out for six weeks."

"Now he has no pain in his knee - and it is a different knee to the one he did his cruciate on."

"Last time he made the point himself - we went out to examine it and he had to have the cartilage out."

And with reference to improving our defensive record, Sir Alex added,

"He`s under pressure isn`t he? But he`ll make a difference, absolutely. He gives us the options."

"And to have senior players like that, it`s helpful."

So there`ll be a big cheer resounding around Old Trafford then when his name is announced on the team sheet for the visit of Sunderland.

Welcome back Vidic still expect the defence to leak a few goals till he gets back into the swing of things. We've missed his leadership at the back just hope his injury problems are over and he gets a good run in the squad
