Kris Stewart goes back to the terraces

Fellow supporters-run club AFC Wimbledon have announced that chief executive and chairman, Kris Stewart, is standing down.

Kris has been at the forefront of the supporters` movement in recent years and was a driving force in the formation of the Wimbledon supporters` breakaway club.

A club statement said: "On 4 September, Kris tendered his resignation which was accepted by the boards of both The Dons Trust and AFCW PLC at a scheduled joint meeting that evening.

"Both boards wish to thank Kris for the immense contribution he has made to turning the germ of the idea of AFC Wimbledon into a reality… We will greatly miss him as a colleague, but we look forward to seeing him as a friend and fellow fan again."

You Can`t Win If You`re Not In! Get Lucky!

The September 16th home fixture with Silsden will see the launching of our new Fair Share Draw. Raffle tickets will be sold prior to the match at £1 each or in books of five. 50% of the proceeds after cost deductions will be handed over to the winner, and the other half will go to club funds, assisting the building of our teams and our work in the community.

A handful of volunteers will then devote some of their time to collecting, checking and counting the proceeds. At half-time, the draw will be held in full view of the fans. The lucky winner will then be invited to immediately come onto the pitch, or send a representative, to collect a cheque for their winnings, or declare who they wish to be the recipient of the prize (e.g. a charity, an individual, a supporters` group etc).

If you wish to help us raise funds with the Fair Share Draw, Volunteer Now! Please email: linda@fc-utd.co.uk or phone: 0161 236 1070. We will then contact you with details of the various ways you can help.

Matchball sponsor for Congleton

'The matchball sponsor for the home game with Congleton on September 6th, The Wheatsheaf in Altrincham, have elected to have the matchball presented to them by representatives of the squad after the away game with Trafford which is being played at Altrincham on Saturday 9th September. After the presentation, staff and regulars at the Wheatsheaf are looking forward to watching big United on one of three large screens installed for such occasions. The Wheatsheaf is situated on the A56 on the northern outskirts of Altrincham. Most buses from Altrincham bus station can drop you off there.'
