Baines Still on the Radar

Baines Still on the Radar

It would seem that despite signing Alex Buttner, Sir Alex Ferguson is still keen on Everton`s Leighton Baines.

Moves to bring the left back to Old Trafford last summer never materialised but the word from the Sunday Express, this morning, infers that Sir Alex is confident he can secure a deal, worth £8 million, for the international left back this forthcoming January transfer window.

Personally, I`m not so sure, how about you?

Haha, 8mil? You are having an absolute laugh. Leighton Baines has created the MOST chances for his teammates out of the 5 major leagues in Europe, and he is a left back!! No chance, seems the media is hell bent on making this move happen, it simply isn't, especially since Everton are in the running for a top 4 spot, unless United stump up stupid money, and I am talking in excess of 25mil, it aint going to happen.

Büttner was added to the squad for depth reasons and to challenge Evra, he might have they potential to be a very good fullback however at the moment he needs more experience and more discipline added to his game. Evra hasn't been as bad this season as he has been seasons past but even still he hasn't been particularly good either. Baines is a class act but at 8 mil we're never going to get him. Would love to see Baines at the club but I doubt it's going to happen, especially considering we still have Fabio. Unless Evra leaves sometime soon, which again I can't see happening, then no fullback will be drafted in.

Never going to get him for £8 mil a bit more maybe. He's probably the best lb in the prem at the moment but £25 mil plus is a bit steep Rob-EFC we didn't pay that for RVP for Christ sake. Can't see us going for him though it's midfield where we really need strengthening the defense just needs to settle the injuries and pull their heads out of their arses
