'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Admire the Tenacity?

Well Aston Villa certainly gave us a scare on Saturday evening.

In the end it needed a magnificent fight-back, aided by a man-of-the-match performance from Javier Hernandez, for United to snatch all three points with the winning goal coming three minutes from time.

For many United supporters it was a game of two halves, with United showing some form in the second half but being strangely subdued in the first half.

After the whistle had been blown, Sir Alex Ferguson gave a few thoughts to the media, commenting,

"We were careless in the first half and had no real tempo. We put pressure on ourselves and even though we got through it, we need to be defending better."

"But I admire the tenacity in the performance. When they need to step up they do it."

But wouldn`t it be nice if, for once, we didn`t need to step up but controlled a game for the full ninety minutes!
