Rio Preaches Caution

It`s only November and the old saying about not looking at the league table until at least late December has cropped up again.

A lot can happen over the coming months and Rio Ferdinand, a veteran of many a successful campaign, has offered a warning that may be compared with that saying about don`t counting your chickens before they`ve hatched, or as Rio put sit,

"I wouldn`t say we are over-happy. We`re in the position we want to be. We set our stall out at the start of the Champions League to make sure we qualify comfortably."

"We`ve done that with games to spare. But in the league, Christmas is when we evaluate it."

"If we are in the same position as we are now, we`d say it was a good start."

"But it`s too early to look at the table and start singing and dancing."

But, at least the foundations are in place, are they not?
