Evans Reckons

Stood in front of the Sky Sports inquisitors, straight after the victory over Chelsea, at Stamford Bridge, did Jonny Evans have one of those famous - I got away with it moments?

Asked about the challenge that saw Fernando Torres tumble to the deck and receive his second yellow card of the back, thereby seeing red, Evans responded,

"At the time I didn`t feel I made any contact but I`ve seen it again and I made a bit of contact - but not enough to bring him down."

"I think he probably realized he wasn`t going to get the ball and went down."

"So I think the referee has made the right decision to send him off."

I`m still not sure myself, if it had of been the other way around I`d have had reservations about the decision!

Can't believe how much of an uproar there is about this. Torres should've been sent off much earlier in the game, ultimately justice was done with regards to him. He he actually been sent off when he was supposed to Chelsea might not have mounted a comeback at all.

There is an argument there I guess to say Torres could've received red for the dangerous challenge but in my opinion that would've been a harsh sending off.

Sorry mate chest height challenge its a no brainer, red and see ya later. It's dangerous and reckless and could've been a lot worse than it was, Torres was lucky Cleverley was an honest player and didn't play act.

@thefamousNo7,what did johnny evans get when he dangerously stamped drogba in the chest 2 seasons ago at the bridge??...torres sendin off was unfair, even evans admitted there was contact,if that is not enough then i wonder what needs to be done,a gun shot??? or a machette cut???

To be honest ken I was going to draw parallels between the two incidents and say how evans was lucky to get away with it but just thought it would be in vain as some of your fans wouldn't see it.

So you beating Wigan by 2 offside goals means that you don't get decisions for you? What if Wigan are relegated due to that? The only 2 teams in this country who could afford to pay the FA a stipend to fix games are City and Chelsea - and I can't see City stopping that low - so it must be Chelsea......... See - how do you like accusations thrown at your club??????

Same Johnny Evans that "hasn't conceded" a foul yet this season? What a charmed life your players seem to lead - just like Rooney last season didn't pick up a single booking until the last game. Just another one of those bizarre coincidences that seem to mysteriously occur at your club!

Two offside goals by Smalling and Nani vs Chelsea at old toilet last season. The injustices never stop.
