Fletcher on Being Back!

Fletcher on Being Back!

Since returning from the illness that had seen him sidelined since November of last year, Darren Fletcher has steadily gone about his business but without talking, in any depth, about his road to recovery.

This morning, in the red-top publications, there are a few quotes that shed some light on his battle and just what it means to pull on the famous red-shirt of our club, with Darren quoted as having remarked,

"You are just happy to be back when you have been through a lot like I have I want to be involved as much as I can."

"I always had faith in myself, and I am back quicker than I expected. It has been a lot quicker."

"But I think you do appreciate it more after going through something like this. Without a shadow of a doubt, you appreciate it more and more."

"I always felt I was one who did appreciate the game and how fortunate I was."

"I did appreciate being at such a fantastic club and playing at the level I was, but with each game, now you appreciate it more."

"Hopefully I will get stronger and stronger. If you had said I would be in this position back in June and July, I wouldn`t have believed you. But as I am here now, I think it is going well."

I`m sure you will join me in crossing your fingers and hoping that Darren suffers no further set-backs in his quest to get to where he once was, namely, the pinnacle of his game.
