A Return to Spain?

One rumour that caught our eyes today related to our Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea.

The source inferred that Real Madrid are prepared to act on the understanding that De Gea is, reputedly, homesick by luring him to the Bernabeu as the long term replacement for their current number one Iker Casillas.

Whether there`s any truth in the inference remains to be seen!

Whilst I can't see any truth in the rumour yet I reckon if de Gea fulfills his potential then the rumour will most certainly have legs in the future. To be honest if they coughed up the full sum we paid for him I would sell him now with no regrets. I don't feel we were ripped off with de Gea, with up to 20 years of service and a potential world beater I just reckon we could do better with the money. Whilst I like de Gea and maintain he's not just the next Van Der Sar and that he can be better than that I just can't see him being a United legend and him leaving for Spain again for either Madrid or Barcelona.

He's no Van Der Sar unfortunately but will be a bloody good keeper if he ever gets his head round high balls into the box. Can see him going to one of the Spanish giants but not for a few seasons lets hope if he does its to Madrid least we have a chance of getting full price for him unlike tap up champs Barca and their pathetic offers.

If DeGea is unhappy about being second choice for you, what makes anyone think he'd be good enough to displace Iker Casillas at Madrid?

Fcb the newspaper rumour isn't to displace Casillas, he's certainly not good enough for that yet but to be an understudy to him and eventually replace him.
