I`ll not begrudge these smaller countries that come to Wembley looking to take the odd souvenir back but sometimes you get the feeling they do take things a little too far.
Okay, asking for the odd match worn shirt seems to be par for the course but, on Friday night, things went a little further.
Having already surrendered his shirt to one San Marino player Wayne Rooney was accosted walking back down the Wembley tunnel and asked by another San Marino player if he`d mind donating his shorts.
Wayne naturally obliged and speaking about the situation to reporters, remarked,
"I gave my shirt to one of their side and had to give my shorts away as well. That was a first. It was strange. I don`t know which player it was. But it was a great opportunity for them to play at Wembley in front of 90,000 fans, so I don`t mind."
Whatever next? Socks!
