Rooney Climbs England Scorers List

The brace, scored by Wayne Rooney as he captained England to success against San Marino, on Friday night, lifted Wayne Rooney to fifth in the all-time scoring list.

Rooney, with 31 goals, and with time on his side to add significantly more, sits behind Bobby Charlton, Gary Lineker, Jimmy Greaves and Michael Owen with the list looking as follows:-

- Bobby Charlton - 49
- Gary Lineker - 48
- Jimmy Greaves - 44
- Michael Owen - 40
- Wayne Rooney - 31

Speaking about making the top five scorers of all time, Wayne had this to say,

"It`s a great honour to be in the top five and I am extremely proud. I am only 26 so have a long way to go and hope to score many more."

Hopefully Wayne can add to that total in Warsaw, on Tuesday evening.
