Team Update

Team Update

Sir Alex Ferguson has stressed that United will not be crashing out of the Champions League in the group stages this time around.

He`s also stressed that he`ll be fielding his strongest sides in the group games until qualification is assured.

However, there`s always the chance that outside factors may interfere in that policy.

Ahead of the fixture against Cluj, we understand that Ryan Giggs and Michael Carrick have not made the trip, courtesy of a virus that has affected them.

We`ve also been told that Paul Scholes has been rested and left behind.

Add to that the fact that Nemanja Vidic, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Ashley Young are all injured and it looks as if the squad may be stretched, a little, for this important fixture.
