No Kids

No Kids

Didn`t Alan Hansen once remark something about not winning anything with kids?

That time he was proved wrong with a young United side storming to honours.

But, this time around as we approach a difficult Champions League group game, in Cluj, Sir Alex Ferguson seems keen to adopt a no kids philosophy as he seeks to ease United through to the knockout stages, something we failed to accomplish last season.

It appears that Sir Alex is mindful of just what Cluj could do to a United side packed with youngsters when he remarked ahead of the fixture,

"We will play the experienced players on Tuesday."

"Cluj knocked out Basel over two legs in the qualifier and shows where they are."

They won in Braga, it`s not an easy place to go to. We are taking it seriously. They think they can qualify now."

"They have a home game against United, get something and they are in a good position."

Whilst we wouldn`t be and with the pressure mounting! It seems like a sound policy to me boss!

What happened to the "Fabled Manchester united youth"? Oh yea, forgot, it was just a fable. Remains to be seen whether you can win anything with pensioners...

In all fairness our youth policy is behind yours in treatment of the young players. At city the youth only have Veira playing bob the builder and Balotelli using them for darts practice. Here at United Nani's strive to reach perfection has got to the point where if you don't reach his own high standards he'll chin you in the gym. Pray for our youth that he never speaks to Ashley Cole or Joey Barton :-D

Think some of the kids could do a better job in defence than some of our more experienced, mature and established defenders *cough* Evra *cough*. I don't see why we don't just play him as a winger and hand the defensive responsibilities to someone more capable defensively. I think the issue with Evra isn't that he can't defend, I firmly believe the contrary, he can defend very well, it's more of a case of he can't be bothered and really can't be asked to close down, pressurise or even tackle the attacker as he doesn't give a flying feck.
