Carrick Identifies Problem

Carrick Identifies Problem

As we sit and reflect on how the season has started, the fact that we keep finding ourselves chasing games concerns us.

Far too often, already this season, we`ve found ourselves behind and it is a trait that we need to get to grips with, it`s also something Michael Carrick has spoken about following the latest debacle, commenting,

"It`s not like us and it can`t keep happening. The positive is that we`ve come back to win three of them, so that showed the kind of resilience and character there is in the squad."

"But it`s not ideal. We`ve been making games a lot harder than they should be and it`s something we are looking to put right."

It is something we need to put right because if we don`t then the 'fear factor` associated with playing Manchester United disappears and we can`t have that can we!

The fear factor has vanished I'm sorry to say. Opponents know our midfield is lightweight and easily bypassed. Plus our defensive injury problems are well documented and not helped with Fergie swapping keepers what seems like every other game. If we can get a consistent back line this falling behind maybe prevented. It would also help if our players could be arsed turning up before halftime or in some cases at all.

Not really much more to add than what MotorMad has already been said. Personally don't think too many teams in the league fear going anywhere anymore to be honest. Anfield certainly isn't a fortress, nor is the emirates, Stamford bridge, white hart lane and, dare i say so far this season the etihad has been far from the fortress it was last season..
