Sir Alex on Last Night

Sir Alex on Last Night

Although United got off to a winning start last night, defeating Galatasaray 1-0, we could so easily have let two of those three points slip from our grasp.

At times our performance lacked the dazzle usually associated with United and following the full time whistle, Sir Alex Ferguson had a few words to say about the lackluster (at times) approach, remarking,

"We kept giving the ball away. It`s unusual for us to be so frivolous but it was a lack of concentration. We were much more solid in the second half and we could have scored four or five."

"But missing chances like we did we kept ourselves on the edge."

And but for a referee, Wolfgang Stark, who looked favourably towards us, on certain occasions, we could be reflecting on what might have been but wasn`t this morning!
