Goodison Bound

Goodison Bound

One news agency is running with the suggestion that a United old-boy could be joining Everton.

The inference being that Owen Hargreaves, who has been released by both Manchester clubs in recent times, has seen a move to the French club, Lille, fall through and could be going to Goodison Park as a free agent,

Still only thirty-one years of age, we sincerely hope that Hargreaves can get back into the swing of things without suffering further injury heartache.

Hargreaves has had some of the best and most expensive physios and medical treatment in the world to try and help him overcome his injury problems and he still hasn't prevailed through. As much as I would love to see him make a return to football I think his got to start looking at the bigger picture - his health. Even if he does make a comeback how will it affect his legs in the long term? His desire to make a comeback is admirable, it really is however I think his got to realise it's not going to happen. Perhaps pursue a career in coaching or becoming an ambassador for a club or the sport in general. Best of luck to him in whatever he chooses to do, I just can't imagine it being on the pitch anymore and I can't imagine too many teams being interested in him.
