A Bubbly Buttner

A Bubbly Buttner

Over the weekend and following the highly successful debut of Alex Buttner, I posed a question relating to the future of Patrice Evra.

I wanted to know whether you thought Buttner could speed up Evra`s exit from the first team, I also, quite shamefully, neglected to consider the future of young Fabio, out on loan at Queens Park Rangers.

But whatever your thoughts on the subject matter are, there`s no hiding that Buttner has presented Sir Alex with a conundrum to consider.

Following the rout of Wigan, Buttner was, naturally, buoyant when it came to his first United appearance, remarking to the media,

"If I play I want to let Sir Alex Ferguson see that I can do a good job."

"I think I did that."

"I`m happy that I can play my first minutes in the team."

"It`s great that we won and I scored, as well as giving a pass to Chicharito to score. It`s a dream for me."

"I wasn`t nervous until I was standing on the field, looking around."

"And I think it`s normal to be a little nervous if you play in front of so many people."

"In Holland I played in front of only 23,000, so it`s beautiful to play for so many more people."

"But I`m happy I`ve scored my first goal in my first game and I`ll never forget it."

I`m sure he won`t and he`s set the scene for what could become a United career many though might not have been possible when he was in Dutch football.

It makes you wonder how many other gems there are out there!

Evras face on Saturday was one of a sudden realisation that his job is all but secure. Can't get ahead of ourselves as it was only Wigan, however it does look like we've got a very good player in our hands.
