'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Master and The Apprentice!

Three points safely in the bag and closing in on the top, not a bad afternoons` work was it?

After the game, Sir Alex, amongst many musings, spoke about two of his midfield stars, but players who are at the opposite ends of their careers.

Firstly, about thirty-seven years old Paul Scholes, Sir Alex had this to say

"That was what Paul was all about as a young player."

"He would ghost into the box to score goals. He hasn`t done it that often as he`s got older because we play him more in midfield."

"But to score in his 700th game was fantastic."

It certainly was although my granny, in all fairness, could have scored form that distance.

Continuing, Sir Alex spoke about eighteen year-old Nick Powell, a summer signing, adding,

"Nick Powell will be some player."

"He`s got a great temperament and two great feet."

And that great finish showed that he can also bring goals to the side.

Flat-track bullies, ably abetted by a referee that awarded you a penalty in the 3rd minute for a blatant dive. Plus ca change eh?

Fergie would need to pull Danny aside and have a word in his ears as he is growing in his reputation as a cheat. He has done same for England vs Ukraine but couldn't con the ref on that occasion. It was either a red card for the keeper, if it was indeed seen as a penalty, or a Yellow card for simulation. Neither was done which points to the Ref being sub standard or intimidated.

.....and those X-rated tackles! None appropriately punished too.

Interestingly enough, the ref, Michael Oliver was the same referee that FAILED to award Fulham a nailed on penalty against united at the swamp last season, one which would have given Fulham a share of the spoils. Good to see the FA is still picking officials that are in the rag's pocket.

Wellbeck was bang out of order with the dive admitedly but to say he's getting a reputation for it is a bit exaggerated. Fergie will have a word i'm sure.
MotorMad
Fair play to you for admitting it motormad.
