Vidic on Van Persie

Vidic on Van Persie

Praise from the captain.

Getting a hat-trick on only your third appearance for anew club is always going to be a way to endear yourself to your new team-mates, but in case Robin Van Persie`s case, it was always going to be only a matter of time anyway.

Following on from that hat-trick, down in Southampton, Nemanja Vidic has come out an sung the praises of the Dutchman remarking,

"He has scored three, he had a great game and he helped us through this difficult game. He is a fighter. He is not scared to play a hard game as well."

"We like him at United for that. He is not scared to receive the ball and have defenders on his back."

"That is important if you want to be a top goal-scorer at United."

"Obviously when you are a good player it is easier to adapt but I think, as well, that his desire to score goals plays a big part."

"When you have a forward who is always looking to score a goal and is hungry to get goals, he is going to get a goal."

"But I think that desire he showed to score his goals, is top class."

It was and but for a fluffed penalty Van Persie could have had 4 to his name.
