Van Persie on That Hat-Trick

Stepping forward, to take the penalty kick yesterday, Robin Van Persie made a bit of an ass of himself.

Our Dutch striker tried one of those little 'dinks` over the keeper only to see the keeper get an arm to it and push it away.

Thankfully, Van Persie was able to redeem himself with two late goals, giving him hi shat-trick, prompting the Dutch striker to come up with the following admission when addressing the press after the game,

"My hat-trick means three points and a little headache. I don`t know what I was thinking with the penalty."

"I wanted to hit it hard like I always do - but in the last second I changed somehow. It wasn`t good enough."

"It was a bit of a down, I`m disappointed about it. I ask a certain standard from my game."

"When you`re 2-1 down, you can`t take a penalty like that. It is me to blame. I`ll have to work on it. Afterwards we were a bit lucky with the 2-2 and then at the end that dramatic 3-2."

That never-say-die spirit saw us through - AGAIN!

Four goals in two starts not a bad return. Finally a bit of clinical finishing something we don't get to often. Could have done better with the penalty though.

He scored 3 and made amends for some of the chances he missed. He could've easily had 5 or 6 though.
