Turning To Hernandez

The injury to Wayne Rooney, likely to keep him out for anything up to eight weeks, has provided the opportunity for Javier Hernandez to, possibly, get back into the starting eleven.

Whilst we expect Sir Alex to turn to Danny Welbeck to partner Robin Van Persie, Javier is also looking forward to playing alongside our new acquisition (given the chance) and has spoken about our newest striker in glowing terms, remarking,

"I know I will learn a lot off Robin because he is a world-class striker who has a lot to give to the team and a lot to teach us all."

"Robin is someone I have always enjoyed watching."

"He did a lot of great things for Arsenal and we want him to do the same for us."

"There are only 11 places each week and you need to get one of those places."

"But it`s great because it means every player will have to raise their level."

"I just focus on doing my best every day in training and in every game."

After a second season that didn`t live up to his initial impact in that glorious first season, Javier will be looking forward to getting back into action on a regular basis, all that remains to be seen is whether Sir Alex gives him that opportunity.

Hopefully he gets back to the form he had in his first season. The second seasons is difficult for most but he won't have much better chances to stake his claim on the starting 11. Do worry he might have accidentally fell into the role of super sub in Fergie's eyes though so might not get the starts he needs.

He'll certainly keep the linesmen busy.

One of the risks of always running the line fcb, ultimately I'd take a few offsides if his stretching the opposition length wise and the wingers are stretching them width wise allowing Rooney, van persie and Kagawa to steps case their match winning potential in acres of space in the middle of the field.
