The Knives Are Out

Last week it looked very much as if Nani was to be the player singled out by the press to be given a hard time.

If that was the case it hasn`t taken long for the media vultures to switch their attention.

Now it seems there is a press drive to make Wayne Rooney`s life as hard as possible, especially when it comes to life at Old Trafford.

Already, after one poor game, at Goodison Park, the knives have been sharpened with it being inferred that he could, if the right offer (£50 million) comes along, be out of Old Trafford.

Old wounds are being re-opened, wounds that go back to that time when Rooney expressed a desire to leave, a desire that was formally quenched by the issue of a new contract.

The media seem convinced that Sir Alex recalls that episode and views it as a slant on his character and that now could be the time for old scores to be settled.

Here at Vital Manchester United we don`t share that philosophy.

So what if Wayne had a poor night at Goodison, something like that is bound to happen now and again.

So what if Wayne is the subject of a bid from another club, these things tend to happen.

Take it from us; Sir Alex purchased Wayne to form a formidable partnership with Robin Van Persie not to use this opportunity to settle an old, non-existent, score!

Perhaps, in a perverse sort of way, the injury Wayne suffered against Fulham might serve the purpose of taking him out of the limelight and allow the media to focus on some other poor sod!

Typical tabloids they just invent most of it to make mischief. Then if something ever comes of there bulls**t give it the "you read it here first". If you throw enough *****e some will stick. Reminds me of the old saying involving typewriter toting monkeys and Shakespeare.
